So all of these problems started at the same time...
Rear window defrost does not defrost
Intermitting wipers do not intermit
Interior lights stay on after car is started
I searched and found several posts about the lights, but how does all of this tie in together? Or is this just a freak of nature car that decided to break this all in the same day?

Central timer module is probably your problem.

Nic, do you have a part number by any chance? I am trying to call the dealers and no one can find this for me. I tried to tell them what this does, and they just say... huh? My Contour is at home, so I can't get the number myself since I work 35 miles from home and want to pick this up on the way back.

The part number is F5RZ-14K150-A.
I'm missing the last letter on my bill but you just have to tell to the dealer that the base part number 14K150 and then the guy should ask you a few question about your car that you should know.
If he still don't find it tell him to check on the picture of the central junction box (the inner fusebox).

I recently sold this part to a CEGer from my 95 LX. The module plugs into the bottom of the fuse box (not Dist. Box). Its a little black module that is about 3"x2"x1". Here is a picture of the one I sold. http://home.comcast.net/~zgendron/CarParts/Wiper_TCM.JPG

Since this isnt a sale/classified, I don't think I run the risk of having this thread locked by asking what you sold it for, versus how much it might cost new?
Mine works perfectly, (ie timing) except I have no chimes, and doesn't that unit also control the chimes?

I sold both the unit and the variable wiper module for $50.
It was a bargin (IMO), but I wasn't really looking to make a ton of money on it, since the car was scheduled to be towed/donated.
