My secondaries have been failling as of late. Its a 1999 with 48k miles.

They will open after the car is first turned on, for a while. Then after driving for a while they will either close while im up in the RPM, or stop opening sometime before i bring it 3500 rpm.

They were not opening just 10 minutes ago, while driving. So i turned the car off for a second, and then back on. And they were back to working....

I've checked the common problems section, im just having trouble figuring out which problem it is.
Could this be the actual IMRC, the cable, or gunk??

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks!

Heat related failure is usually in the box.

Just saw the above post.

So shutting off after a while is the actual IMRC module?

Kind of odd that 'heat' does it as you say, because I can turn the car off and start it back up and 50% of the time they will start working again... i guess that does sound like a computer problem...

thanks

Actually when the drive gears in the box are messed up, the little electric motor does not have the kahunas to move it all when it's hot.

Sometimes regreasing the gears and leaving the cool plastic Duratec cover off is enough. Someone even re-located the box away from the heat. If you open the IMRC box up be sure nothing is warped from the heat and check the solder connections on the PCB.

Ill try those tomorrow probably, The thing is im not completley sure its heat. Its been kinda cold around here as of late, and they have failed within 10-15 mins of easy driving, so its not like a large excessive amount of heat has been built up. At least not like there was this summer :-x
