It happened the other night briefly, but has also since then occured three other times within the last 2-3 days....in between shifts, there is an extreme hang in rpm or even a rise in rpm, then it idles at 1250-1400rpm. After a few minutes of driving and maybe some WOT, it will go back to normal....wtf? If it were a vacuum leak, it would probably be more consistent I would assume. No CEL, nothing...input? 56k miles.

Take the IAC off and squirt some TB cleaner in there. Clean out all the gunk and it should cure up that sticky IAC.
If not...buy a new one. The cheap and easy route is always a good place to start, though.

Already cleaned it once, estimating about 10k miles ago....I might as well just replace it. I just wanted to pin point it to the IAC to be sure I don't waste my money.....how much is a new one anyway? Maybe Bill Jenkins?....

I went through that as well, takes forever after a TB swap, but no I haven't reset it in quite a while.

how long does it take the ecu to relearn? I just replaced my IAC for the same reason, and it's idling all over the place now after I reset the ecu. . .driving me nutz.

Usually 3 full driving cycles.

Make sure to use the defrost as well so it can learn that. (i.e. A/C on)

There is actually a set procedure for relearning (in 1 cycle) but it's long and I'm not typing it all out.
