Thanks Pete! That maintenance schedule still leaves some things out and includes some stuff that isn't doable, like greasing the sealed front ball joints. But I like the way it's laid out. I cut and pasted it into Word and am going to use the template to make my own schedule, combining things from my original schedule from Ford, the Chiltons and Haynes schedules, and, more importantly, what I learn here. I'll use this as a guide and then make a similar one to actually fill in with what I've done. I think this will make things a lot easier to track then using Ford's little book - if I ever get around to it! Thanks again. Lynn

As SVT PETE suggested, most of the schedule information is already collected in a "pinned" thread... ... You'll soon recognize all familiar faces, for example Big Jim who answered much better than me and now feels left out I'm sure

Thanks again Alex! I feel like a dolt for not looking under modifications for the maintenance forum. I just saw mods header and thought, well maintenance won't be under mods - will try to look around more!... heretofore have only been on lists... I couldn't possibly forget Big Jim, as he's given me great help, but my answer to him was similar to yours so I answered privately. Well... off to find that "pinned thread"! No friction modifier is needed when you use the Ford fluid. The dealer should tell you this when you purchase it. They formulated it specifically for the MTX-75 so you don't need any additives. If you use a regular Mercon ATX or synthetic ATF THEN you need the additive!

Lynn,

If/when you get that list made, be sure to post a blank one for us to use, too.. We'd certainly love a tailor made list for our specific platform!

The factory also said that friction modifier is not needed with the factory fill Mercon ATF. The trans works much better with added friction modifier with the factory fill.

My experience is that the trans works much better with friction modifier added to the Ford honey too.
