Stopped at Auto Zone to get filters and oil for mine and the wifes Bi-Fuel Contours. Grabbed Mobil I and didn't realize it till after I had changed it in both cars that it was their new "blended" which I'm assuming is dino and synthetic.
On regular Syn Mobile I I change it every 10k with no problems (I've been doing it all my life (47) on a wide range of vehicles with no problems so save the change interval speaches).
I'm wondering what a safe change interval is with this blend. Any ideas?

Couple things:

1.) Most peoeple on this site do not recommend blends, since it's basically 85% dino and 15% synthetic. You'd rather save your money and go for a name-brand dino oil, in this case.

2.) It's your vehicle and you have the best feel, but IMHO, 10k seems a bit long for oil change intervals even w/mobil 1.

3.) Blend intervals, I would have no idea about, perhaps someone more knowledgable can answer this question. Have you tried the mobil website to see what they suggest?

I would bet the recommended change interval would cause no harm.
Speaking of oil life, here's an interesting link.

The bi-fuel car could probably take a longer interval then the gas only car, if its driven on its alternative fuel more often then gas.

FWIW, the average miles on a Zetec's oil change, according to the lab does the analysis on my oil, is 4500 miles. My oil always seems to be dead at 7000.
