I have sony in each of my cars, and the rotary knobs are malfunctioning. Poor design! And they are different models too.

Xplode sucks, life long sony fan only the ES stuff, but like all manuf. now they had to start penny pinking and thats sucks for us weget the short end of the rotary nob! frown

just from what i heard is that sony isn't investing as much into car stereo anymore as they used to. Now they rather spend it all on video games (hence PS2, and already under construction PS3). Kdenz

Hey guys...we installed the Sony CDX-MP70 on the
wall display of our high-end room and it's a little more tame looking than the eccentric red-in-your-face explode line.
What's really neat is the loading mechasim which is like cd rom.
A somewhat 2 shaft looking unit.
Even worse is the 95db s/n ratio in which one would think should be higher for a $500 head.
Our Kenwood KDC-MP919 @ $449 measured 105 db.
By no means am I disparaging product.
Style over substance is todays 12v theme.
