It's said if you use a shorter plug the cylider might not seal properly and it would be bad in the long run. I used to run a shorter plug then found out it was shorter and switched to the Motorcraft AZFS22Cs. They are the only plug I've found over the counter that fit perfectly. Without the nitrous you should be able to run stock gap, but under the juice it depends on how big a shot you run. For a 50shot, that sounds good for the time being til you can test it out. If you get a misfire then gap it to .40, but if you have to gap it more then that you should look into upgrading your ignition somehow. Maybe just new wires to start, especially if your current ones are getting on the miles.
