Well as many know it is my birthday today. Thanks Jenna and Keith . So it is fitting that I needed to go and celebrate it the way the goverment wants you too. I went to renew my stickers. Now as everyone in Southern Ontario is aware unless under a rock. It snowed. Now with all the running around I did to fix it for the emmisions test I have yet to put on my snows. This is the Contour we speak of for the record. Well this morning coming around a corner and I caught a patch of the slipery stuff allowing me to bounce into the curb. Not in excess of 20kmh might I add. As we speak the car is at a local shop here in London. (yeah couldn't even do it near my home. ) Latest prognosis is that I bent the control arm and moved the steering knuckle about 1.5" which so it would seem is a fair bit. They farmed it out to a frame shop to and I am awaiting the verdict of wether or not that to is bent or out of line.

Happy Birthday to me. With used parts and just the control arm and steering knuckle damage it may come in at $500. Bent frame may make it double that. I'm so happy. So everyone be careful out there. Curbs are jumping out from everywhere.

Well, let's hope that it won't be too expensive to repair.

Damn that sucks. At least it was a curb and not another car or anything else, and most important your OK.

Sucks... I'm counting my blessings after this morning. I was headed southbound entering the 404 from Woodbine when a turd burglar pulled in front of me (in to my merge lane)moving 5 km/h. This is my first time ever driving the Tour in the snow so I was still on the learning curve. Even with snows and ABS engaged while moving at an acceptable speed (okay maybe 5km/h over acceptable) I lost control and found myself sliding sideways into the only open space on the whole highway. Unreal, can't believe I came out of it unscathed. Good luck with the fix up!

Took me 3 hrs to get from Bayview & 407 to Avenue & Dupont today.

Every hill had a dump truck and a delivery truck or a tractor trailer stuck on it and sliding backwards. Got stuck once because some ped decided to stop on a hill right in front of me after all the fools had turned it into ice by flooring their cars and burning up thier ATX's and tires

Ended up rolling back down the hill, waiting for the mess infront of me to clear and then crawled up the hill at almost an idle speed. I find it utterly amazing how people tend to act as if snow is a new concept the first time they see it each year.

BTW...the trip I made is usually 45min max in rush hour on a bad day with road work.

Well the final bill came in @ just about $500 plus all my travelling expenses. Thank god I didn't bend the frame. I did however eer so slightly bend the front rim I'm told so it is now on the back of the car.
