so are we talking apples to apples, or flat out speed comparisons?

I'm skeptical that the new engine will chop that much off the 2004's 0-60 time (0.7 seconds). I'll wait for an independent test.

Equipped out... the difference is more like $6000.00 (Mustang is $27,500 loaded.)

That said, I still believe more power isn't what the GTO needed, but better handling and a nicer interior.

Nicer interior compared to what? G35 or Rx-8? both of those aren't any better

RX-8's interior (Grand Touring) is a lot nicer than the GTO's... suffering from bad design and bad tactile feel everywhere. It may look OK (sans gimmicks), but the controls feel like they came out of a Grand Am.

The G35's interior is far too ladies-who-lunch for my taste.

IMO the only thing it needed was a re-relocation of the gas tank to reclaim the lost trunk space.

I love the interior of my car. What exactly don't you like about it? And what on the rx-8 is better in your opinion?

For brevity's sake... I posted the link to my original review.
My GTO review...

Well... the RX-8 suffers from none of the flaws (except only having a trunk pass-through) listed in the review... has a much sportier ambience and attitude... and you can avoid the gimmicky interiors (I don't like the red-faced gauges... and I want a red car).

Plus... moonroof for the same money (a necessity).

Because they don't even have them on the dealer lots yet
