the paintshop that has been f'ing with my car for 6 weeks has now made a big mistake.. they have sprayed over one of the rims on accident and are saying they are going to sandpaper it off and try to fix it.. im am extremely pissed..is it possible to remove the paint from the rims..the rims r gunmetal silver colored and the paint it black..can it be removed without damaging the rim and paint..otherwise i will be kicking some major ass tomorw..

lacquer thinner should take it right off.

and that wont damage the orginal color or paint ont he rim .. idk how they color rims im guessing its a paint but ur pretty sure it wont get messed up right?? thansk for the help

lacquer thinner only removes paint, not clearcoat so your okay.

Oh, damn!  That sucks man, I agree that lacquer thinner should take that off. Good luck with that!

USE A CLAY BAR!!!!!! That's what the body shop should be using! SANDPAPER!!!!!!!!!!

You can use the ol' proven technique I learned.. It involves a mallet..
Step 1: Take out mallet
Step 2: Walk into Paintshop
Step 3: Beat painter with Mallet
Seriously, there's no excuse for them painting your wheel. If they were painting anything close to your wheel, they should have masked the wheel and wheel arches off. Im guessing they aren't a very reputable shop?

see the problem is that its a OEC class at school and the teacher decided to let some kids work on my car when i wasnt there. well i went this morning and i got the paint off with the thinner... lol wow they were lucky or i might have used a bat instead of a mallet.
