Normally what is a good signal to noise ratio for an amp and what affect does it have on SQ? ~Brian

if I recall correctly, the s/n ratio should be as high as possible...what it is, is the amp's ability to distinguish btwn. music signal from the source and dead signal (such as btwn. songs, pauses, etc.) A high s/n ratio eliminates the hiss in your speakers during silent parts of songs... If I'm wrong, somebody correct me...

That's correct. Higher is better. It means you've got more more of the original source signal than added noise/distortion.

what would be a good minimum s/n ratio to look for for sq purposes.
...and yes, I did SEARCH first before asking.

I wouldn't go with anything less than 100.
