Mine are smooth and extremely responsive. I've had two performance driving instructors, that also Road Race and Auto-X reguarly, comment how they loved the "right now" feel and strength of my brakes. Alot of that is from the Mintex 1144 pads.

Yes, but we're talking stock vs. stock here. Brembo's are stock on some of the G35 packaged cars. One could just as easily install cross drilled or slotted rotors on the the G35 with Wilwood calipers and SS lines and end up with a much better braking system than the stock Brembos...

DOH! Yeah I wasn't thinking but now that you mention it I knew there was a reason this didn't ring well with me. As a former LS1 owner, you are correct, the LS1 used a nodular cast iron crankshaft. In all honesty it doesn't make much sense to me financially that every engine would use a forged crankshaft as forging is a more expensive process to undertake than the casting and coating of casted metals.
Linky here to a good write up on LS1 engines and the internals.

Hi cjbaldw, I wasn't looking at stock-to-stock. Didn't realize that was setdown. If that's the case I'll take an Enzo .
Originally posted by Alan Coles: ...Regarding the Brembo brakes, my 98 SVT actually had as good if not better brakes than the G35 Coupe Brembo setup. KVR slotted rotors, with Mintex 1144's and AeroQuip lines. Now if only I could afford to put a Wilwood setup on there'd be no contest . The SVT can be modded to out perform the G35 in everyway for less than the price of a new G35. You'd still have a 5-7 year old car but one heck of a lot of fun...
I've driven the G35 Coupe 6spd with the Sports Package (Brembo's etc.) and the brakes certainly are very nice.
I'm merely saying that the SVT, being a 10 year old design and available for about one-quarter the price of a G35 can be made to handle itself very well on a dollar-for-dollar basis . I think that's one of the SVT's great appeals. For me, at least, price enters into almost all of my buying decisions. If it wasn't an object/obsticle then my garage and driveway would look considerably different.

The Brembo's are standard with a 6-speed G35c. Its actually a way to tell if a passing g35c is a 6-speed or automatic..just look at the brakes..btw

Goonz, I'm in Canada and up here Infiniti package the car as one model with several option packages, one of which is the "6-speed manual with Sport Package". I see that in the US, they sell them as two seperate model designations "G35 Coupe" and the "G35 Coupe 6MT".
There's always stupid little differences like that. When I ordered my Volvo, there were certain options that I could get in Canada that weren't available in the US and vise-versa. Although, it appears Volvo has got the two markets closer together this year.
Regards, Alan
BTW, I notice they list a "Dual mass flywheel" on the US site but no mention of it on their Canadian site. Do you know if they're referring to a Dual mass Clutch like CenterForce have, or the flywheel? If it's the flywheel, do they mean an aluminum/steel flywheel like my Fidanza or a harmonic damper like the Ford DMD?

if you notice his car, he rarely cleans the rims cause a little bit of brake dust on his rims makes it look kine gun-metalish. Blends in nice with the "Dymond Graphite" color of the car
I want that, but I drive it all the time

This Guy came into my work the other day in one of those for an oil change. He had put a skyline engine in it, and shaved all the infinity logos. But instead on the back he had a nissan skyline logo. What a flamer he got pissed when we entered his car in the computer as a G35
