This morning I go to start my car and I turn the key, car cranks, starts, tries to rev up a little bit, then dies. So I try it again. THis time it just cranks, and cranks. I let it rest for about 15 min and try again. Cranked, started a little and died. Then it just cranks. So I let it rest about an hour and it only cranks. I was wondering what this could be. Yesterday the car ran perfect, and today it won't start. I was wondering if it may be the starter, but it did try to start a few times and died. So could it be the fuel pump? Or something else. Please help if you can. I need my car.

more likely a fuel pump. go to the fuel rails located where the injecters are unplug the fuel line to the rail get a water bottle stick the hose in there and turn your key on and see if theres gas comming out

Sorry to hear about your car, but it sounds like it could be the fuel pump or the crank sensor, good luck to you

Thanks, I think that I am just going to have it towed to a service center here. Not a Stealership though. I hope its nothing really expensive. How much do fuel pumps or the crank run? I don't want to get ripped off. This sucks because I just ordered a K&N intake filter and MAF adapter and everything to make the custom air intake. Now the car wont even start. Hopefully I get it back and running so I can put the air intake in.

Well the service center said that the problem was the combination of the cold weather and needing new tune up parts. Car has about 85,000 miles on it. They also said the engine was flooded.

So they are going to replace the plugs and wires. Do a fuel injection cleaning, change
the oil, since they said that gas had mixed into it. (How does something like that happen?) Hopefully, they get it running. THey said it should be done today, so that right there is worth the money to me.

Is 85,000 miles when you should change plugs and wires? Oh well as long as it runs I'll be happy.

Well after getting the car back last week Saturday, Nov. 27. It started great for the whole week. Ran great the whole week. Then today I get in the car, go to start it - cranks, starts, trys to rev up and dies. So I wait a few minutes, try it again, and this time it just cranks. Wait a few more minutes - cranks, starts, trys to rev up, so this time I give it a little gas to rev it up more, and it is fine. Starts fine the next 6 times today as well. This still sounds like a fuel pump issue. But the service people checked out the pump and said it was fine. I don't know what could be wrong with it. I guess I will be taking it back in and telling them to get it straight this time. Have to wait until Monday though. I hope it starts tomorrow.

No check engine lights. Which sucks because I don't know how the mechanics are going to figure out what is wrong with it, when no codes will be up. Any suggestions? I saw someone talking about the ECT. What is the ECT?

The ECT = engine coolant temp. sensor it plays a huge part in your gas mileage and how the car runs.
If your ECT says the car is hotter than it is it will tell the computer so and it may be to lean of mixture to start up like it should.

Also plugs and wires, I did mine about 50k, so 85k yeah way past due.
