So I think that my suspension might be on its way out. I've noticed a lot of strange noises as I go over bumps and stuff, and the ride isn't quite as smooth as it used to be. I've only got 70k miles on the car, is it possible that it's time to bite the bullet and buy a performance suspension?

go for it - it can only be better than worn out shocks

My SVT has about 75K, and I am replacing all the bushings, tie rod ends, ball joints, struts and springs. Though I did have eibachs on my stock struts for about 5K, so that probably didn't do the original struts any favors.

I had that problem (wierd noises over bumps, excess play in the steering etc.) from the first day I had my 'tour. Come to find out that both of my front strut mounts were completely shot and the struts paid the price for the bad mounts. I just recently had all that replaced, new tires and a 4 wheel alignment done and I'm very suprised by the difference. The only other vehicle I've ever driven/owned that I liked this much for winding roads was my Neon R/T [R.I.P. ]...

I second checking the bushings, mounts, etc. FYI, my car's been a SW car, but my front sway bar brackets rusted through. (= bad clunk)

I found part of the problem, and it has nothing to do with suspension. One of the latches holding the back seat to the frame is messed up, so the seat isn't held down firm and bounces on the bumps. I'm gonna fix that this weekend, and we'll see if it still squeaks.

I got the thing back on during lunch hour today... but still squeeks going over bumps... maybe I'll have to get that euro suspension package after all... damn

and who here has done one before on an SVT? Tried to do the suspension myself on the old SE, pain in the rear! Like zero room to work! Are the SVTs any easier or should I just take it somewhere to get it done professionally?
