Thanks for the advice - I think I'll stick with the Alpine amp, I'll just be sure to keep it dry wink . That Lambda Acoustics driver looks like a good idea from stryke audio so I'll give them a call to see what type of box they suggest. Any ideas here? Keep in mind, I've never made a speaker enclosure before, although I have done some furniture.

BTW, where would I get binding posts for the enclosure?

Thanks!

Clarion Killer! Ahhhhh! Dirty Power! Seriously this thing was mean to my subs, It ate a few of them. When I bought them they were running massive Clarion Amp to a 12 and it worked fine, but when I use this beast it just warped the voice coils! I got the sub replaced free, then tried again and had the same result! LOL! eek AHHHHH! Never had problems with it's reliability, but I have to say it put out some cruddy sound compared to my V12 (which supposedly has less power) smile

You might want to at least take a look at their specs before bashing them - low distortion, high power output while rated at low voltage input, inexpensive prices. IMO, they're one of the best "bargain" brand of amps out there. I've owned three of 'em and have had nothing but excellent performance and reliability. They are rather ugly, tho.

BTW, amps don't have voice coils.

Darn Alpine brand-whore! :p wink [/QB][/QUOTE]

HAHA yah d*mn straigh they don't have voice coils ahah.... Alpine still makes one of the cleanist amps around though.

He said that the amp fried the VCs, not that the amp had VCs. He is smarter than that despite the way most of his posts look. smile
