I contacted the yard, as it sounds a few of us have done today. What a shame, the car is stripped and its components sitting on shelves already. I was calling about a part or two in particular but asked for a few other prices just out of interest. They're asking $1500 for the engine alone... the car could have been purchased as salvage for $1200 bumper to bumper. So sad, I'm not blaming Legacy, he's not familiar with how the sytem works and probably didn't want the hassle of moving the car. Too bad one of us didn't know about it or even a group to purchase it and divy up the parts, and even make a buck while keeping our own Tours running. I might pick up an item or two. Who else has called for parts and is considering?

Cheers,

Jason

I was going to but decided not to bother knowing what the pricing would be like. Yeah it would have been nice to pick up the entire car for $1200.

Just browsing and saw the pics, etc. Glad to hear you're ok, but that sucks the SVT was parted out already. That's just too bad. Well, at least they parted it out. There was a rollover SVT around here that went to a junkyard and they shredded it w/out salvaging anything! I saw it on a flatbed with the body in pretty bad shape, but when I called they didn't even know they were rare or that people may have actually been interested in interior parts, etc. ! Sorry bout your tour man! Good luck with getting another one!

Perhaps if you are going hunting for some parts there you could check to see if they still have the front door speakers from the car? Mine are dying but I don't care to spend $200 on aftermarket ones. If the have them and they are cheap let me know.

Hey timeless.
I am gonna be yanking out my front door speakers very soon. Going to aftermarket replacements. They are yours if you want them. Work just fine!
BTW, if someone is going out there, See if they will do a good price on the SVT exhaust....

I think you're pretty lucky to walk away from that accident- there are a lot of things that didn't happen (like the roll over etc) that saved your life. Glad to hear your are fine.

If the car is a write off does your insurance have a provision for "replacement value" Given the going rates for the svt's you should be entitled.

Good luck (I hate insurance co's)
