Hey guys, I've seen tons of pics where evryones rotors are nice and shiny or atleast a nice metalic black color....How are you guys keeping them looking so good? Are they aftermarkets or stainless or something? B/c i have the stockers and they always have a film of brown rust. It goes away after driving around for a little or getting on the breaks hard, but for example, this afternoon they looked clean & shiny from driving untill i washed my car and they got that brown rusty film again . Is there a cleaner that you all are using to keep yours nice or are you guys just taking pics of your car when you have the rust brushed off . Just wondering b/c I hate looking past the CSVT cobra R's only to see rust. Thanks

while it wont last forever, the zinc coated rotors take a lot longer to get nasty and go south, the stock rotors are the worst to keep clean though.

Like Speed Demon said. They are zinc plated so they dont rust forever. Thats what the place said where I purchased my rotors as well.

Hey I know what you mean, but I've come to accept it. I'd love to have them stay clean, but I just can't stay ontop of it like I used to before school.
But if there's a will, there's a way so if you really wanna keep 'em clean you'll do it
Do the sets off ebay surface rust? Or are they really that nice and stay rust-free?
I've looked into buying a complete set for my car but, it's ebay

So your Powerslots don't rust at all? Are they zinc coated? Do you have both fronts abd rears? How muich did they run you?

Won't water quality matter on this too? i.e. if you have too many impuriites in your water (electrolytes), it could help the electrochemical reaction for iron oxide. I dunno, just a toss up.

zinc coating does rub off but it takes a while... and it only really comes off the contact area so the rest of the rotor stays clean. so long as you keep the brake dust off with regular washing. brake dust eats evarything!!!

In another post CEG'rs say tp put a thin layer of anti-sieze on the rotor to prevent rusting. Has anyone tried this? Results?
