My car got hit this weekend yet the only thing I could think about was how my uninsured stereo faired thru the carnage. Seems to be working though and now I must fix the car.

What is wrong with this statement?

Haha.. When I got into my accident a couple years ago, I called 911, then my insurance company from my cell phone. I asked the insurance company if I should drive the car w/ the airbags depolyed, they told me it was up to me and the police officer (if the officer thought it was safe, blah blah). Then I asked, "Well, if I get it towed, will my stereo be covered against theft in the tow yard, or should I have a friend bring some screwdrivers to me so I can take most of the stuff out?" Ended up driving the car home, so it didn't matter.

heck,,,to me the stereo is huge,,,somethings are a constant in our lives in that is the music we listen and love..to me the equipment that it plays thru, which i try hard to research to get the best synergy for the money, takes a life of its own. when people move from place to place i tell them to sell everything but keep the stereo...they look at me funny then

Hmmmm...
I thought that anything physically attached to the car is covered by insurance, especially in the case of theft.

Were you more concerned about whether or not the accident damaged/destroyed some part of your stereo system, and the your insurance wouldn't cover that?

Not sure about that.

I have custom part insurance on my car. That covers aftermarket stereo, rims, etc. I got $1000 included in the coverage and then if I wanted more, I had to pay like $6 every 6 months for every $1000 that I want covered. Well worth it I would think.
