There's a grommet in the engine bay on the driver's side. It's back by the master cylinder reservoir and goes in behind the brake pedal. On mine, there were no other wires in it, so you'd need to cut it a bit to shove the wire through.

Hope that helps,

James

how much of the interior did you have to rip out to access that area....when i was in there yesterday, i noticed the insulation (black rubber under carpet) runs up behind brakets that are mounted to dash components. should i just cut a section of the mat away or will this grommet you speak of solve it all for me.....i hope so...thanks for the help..

The only place I could find on my '95 Mystique was through the wiper grill.

I originally tried the "teardrop" hole that most people talk about, but it had 2 cables running through it, and I could not get a wire through.

Anyway, if you remove the grill using a torx wrench (the star-shaped screw heads) then there should be one hole to access that grill space from the engine, and another hole to get from the space to the passenger compartment. I poked a hole through the rubber seal, and pushed back until I made a hole in the insulation. I then pushed my wire through both holes (can be tricky to blindly find that 2nd hole unless you use a thick wire) and then was able to see the wire from above the brake pedal area. Use a red colored wire and use a flaslight and you'll see it if it went through!

I hope this helps!

Hmmm... Well, from what I remember, my brother and I just shoved either an awl or a straightened metal coat hanger through there. I just took a quick look and it seems that we just poked a hole through that insulation. So, if you don't have any wires going through that grommet, I would just shove an awl into the hole to poke it out and then attach your power cable to a coat hanger and pull it through. After that, We just ran it along the door sill.

I'm assuming you're running this cable to the trunk, because you have two options for running back there: (1) Down the middle or (2) Along the door sills.

I ran my power cable along the door sill and my RCA's down the middle of the car. You could probably run the power down the middle with your speaker wires and then under the carpet and back seat to the trunk. Which I think would be a better option.
