Another question about brake hardware: I know that Contours are equipped with a clip on the front calipers, sometimes called an "anti-rattle spring/clip." Besides the definition that the name itself produces, what is the intended function of these clips. Also, because they are such a necessary item for proper brake function, how come they are not also located on the rear calipers?

The rear brakes are of a completely different design and the brake pads are held in place by other means.

i recommend making sure u have anti rattle clips, without them your caliper just kinda bounces around cuz nothing else holds them down.
