So I went to an exhaust shop a few weeks ago, the guy running the place quoted me 550-600 installed depending on what tips I wanted, but this guy swears by flowmaster and tells me I could get upwards of 30hp out of it (which I highly doubt).
Anyone have experince with flowmaster in CSVT's?
Should I just wait till I have enough cash to get everything from the headers on back done?

It's a 2000 CSVT if anyone is wondering.

I was under the impression that flowmasters were not as good as a straight through exhaust such as magnaflow, or borla because flowmasters are chambered.

But either way it will flow better than an oem muffler.

expensive for catback + hiflo res installed?

it's $549 for the bosal set through BAT, which is what I think I should probably do...

What kinda exhaust system are you going with?

Tropic, I see that you took your res off, how much louder is your car now?

Will it be stainless steel or aluminum?

Maybe he didn't realize you have an SVT Contour.. He might be thinking 04 SVT Cobra.. Even then I don't see 30HP!! If he's not atleast using SS then I'd consider going somewhere else or buying a catback and installing it yourself.. Flowmaster will also sound like poop on your car..

Ive heard that Borlas are the best, but also the priciest. They are also not as loud as some of the others(which is what I like about them)when use with resonators. Try going to www.trubendz.com to get a good deal. Then pay a shop to install for you( $150-$200).

Thanks for all the feedback... I was more or less concerned with what the Flowmasters would soundlike and their performance. I didn't ask the guy if he was using stainless or not, but I wouldn't do it any other way. Does anyone have experince with the bosal exhaust?
