Today i cleaned her up nice good and put the for sale signs on her. I was wondering what u guys thought of the Audi S4. Ive been really interested in this car for its obvious reason Luxury combined with performance. I dont plan on modding the car very much because i think i would enjoy it the way it is and it seems like every thing that i want in a car which is Luxury and Performance. So I was wondering about some thoughts from you guys on this purchase. It would be a 2001-2002 S4 cant afford the new one. i wish.

Skip the Audi and wait for the Mazdaspeed6 due out next year - 274hp, 280ft/lbs, AWD, 6spd...... MSRP starts at ~28.9K pretty well equipped. http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/displayPage.action?pageParameter=mazdaSpeed6

the S4 is a wonderful car. stay away for the 2000 models because they have problems with the tranny that were not fixed untill the 2001 model year.
it's very difficult to keep an S4 stock because they have so much potential all you need is a chip, short shifter, exhaust and springs and your done. other than that its one of the best sleeper car out there. expect to pay 22-26k for one in great condition and low miles.

Mmmmm... S4 . Im plannin on gettin one within the next year. Sorry guys but after driving an S4 for a while driving my SVT just wont seem as fun anymore. The twin turbo is great and all but I've had dreams about an AWD V8, and my dreams came true in 2004. I just gotta have that low end torque.

Audi has the best interior in the world. I love the red glow, and not that cheap, ugly GM red glow that Pontiac loves so much. Be ready to do repairs on it though. Audi has a dismal reliability rating, but... you owned a Contour so it's all ok.

Except that Audi repairs cost major coin.

Go with the Audi. I've been eyeing those for a while now.
As for the Mazdaspeed6, I just wish they put a real engine in the car. It looks like they're doing so much else right with that car, then they throw in a turbo 4. In all, they're moving their cars in the right direction, but they still leave a little to be desired.
They're trying to cash in on the WRX/EVO thing, which doesn't fit that car. The new 2.3L 4 is great, but Ford has so many other engines. I'm sure they could get more out of the 3.0L Duratec too. Hey, why not try the new 3.5L Duratec?
The engine is the weak link in an otherwise awesome chain, and therefore, the Audi gets the nod.

Jason from Arizona (Rev. Po-Jay on these boards) just got rid of his SVT for a 2000 S4. He loves it. She is Gone thread!
