I have a 2000. The 2001 came with the 300HP motor but after talking to many M coupe owners they said that you only get the extra 60HP above 5500 RPM. So, unless your going to make it into a race car it was not worth the huge price difference to get a 2000 vs the later models.

Idiot. Have you driven one of those cars? They are stupid fast. I have taken a bunch out and had nothing but fun and people oogling it. I was asked so many questions and the only thing I could say it was fast, and the rate of acceleration was almost orgasmic.
