Gonna buy a new alt....CT has a bosch alt for 300 bones. the ford alt is 400. Anyone one use the bosch alt?

I had CT throw one in my Mystique last year ... doesn't seem to hold up too well during the cold dips. I'm considering replacing mine already. Can't speak for them in general, only mine.

My alternator died just recently.. looked around.. CT $300 .. Ford $290... I went to the shop I always deal with and they got one for Dealer cost which was $170 with 1yr warranty..

Now keep in mind my car now sounds like it has a supercharger with the alternator whine but works fine... try part stores they might have one cheaper..

Or you can order one from Las Vegas (Bill Jenkins stomping ground) it might be considerably cheaper.. even with the cross border fee

I have one in my Cougar that was installed this spring. So far it has been fine without problems and I put it through 300km of driving daily (work). It also has a 5 year warranty that beats any Ford warranty on their own product. I would replace with a Bosch instead of the Ford alt anyday.
