the only vtec honda i drive from time to time is my friends 99 civic SI. it has headers a cai no cat tanabe exhaust and he says it has a skunk works intake manifodl bu tit looks stock to me. well the car has no torque at all. my other friend that lives down the street from him has a 92 accord with the sohc 2.2 non vtec with headers, full exhaust, and codl air intake and the accord is a little bit quicker. the funny thing was when the accord beat the SI my friend with the SI got so mad that he went out and baught a zex 80 shot dry kit. i raced the accord a few times and if i dont spin the wheels through first i leave him off the line and he wont catch me. one of my friends that i havent raced yet. it seems liek without torque you dont realy feel liek your going fast. from what i remember those civic SI's come with 160 hp but only 111 ft lbs of torque.

all i have to say is turbo....without a turbo on a B-series motor you are not going anywhere. but with one exception and that is a B20 with a vtec head. i have a freind with a 92 hatch with a B20vtec and he could run 9.1's in the 1/8 all night and that is at a crappy track with no traction in 1st and 2nd. and he also cant drive very good. i have to say i am glad i got my cougar and i have never regreted it but my next car will be a honda and it will have a turbo.....cause no matter how you look at it THEY JUST PRODUCE. another friend of mine has a 99SI with a B18C1 with a turbo boosting 14psi walked of from a '03 Cobra, and i saw that with my own eyes.

what about a B16 or B18C...those are both motors that will put you in the 13s NA in a civic.

show me one that is in the 13's all motor and has nothing but bolt-ons. that means no internals no headwork strictly bolt-ons....with the possible exception of a B20 in a hatch.
