Apparently, I need to replace the Front Bank(1) sensor 2 OXYGEN sensor. Is that difficult to replace (and where the heck is it)?
I noticed it calls for a special tool. Also, does anyone know the part No for this part so I can get a price from signiture or partsonline?
Thanks

Don't take the parts monkey word for it. Post the codes & let us help you be a bit more certain of what needs to be done with your car. I have had my CEL come on 4 times. Only one time was I required to replace a sensor.

Additionally, Bank 1 is the fire wall side. The lower (downstream) sensor is easy. The upper (upstream) sensor is a pain. At least is was for me. Maybe my approach was wrong, but I had to remove the Y pipe to get at it, & even then access was VERY limited.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

All you need is a long 7/8" wrench and you can get any O2 sensor off.

With the help of the "How to" on this(in Mods section I believe) I was able to change the Up-stream sensor against the firewall and I have fat hands. Tight fit though.

Did the FWD up-stream one when I had the AC compressor out of the way.

I used the free rental kit supplied by AutoZone for the upper. The lower one he's talking about replacing is easy to get to.

I'd disagree with your mechanic that only the sensor is at fault.

I'd lay odds that both upstream sensors are worn out AND that you have an intake tract leak.

What do you mean by Intake tract leak?
When I try to find the O2 sensors on line parts dealers, how do I find them. They're not listed under emissions, engine? exhaust? How many sensors are there? Finally found the sensor (only 1?)under collision????? then emission Systems? Are they all the same? I Have to admit, sensor stuff baffles me. Emission parts sold under collision and not mechanical??? That does baffle me!

Just use the Bosch 13115 from AutoZone, about $60 each.

Your online sources are using the Mitchell's parts database. Just something you have to get used to.

Intake tract means the air hose from the MAF to the throttle body, the intake manifolds, gaskets, EGR system, and PCV system. Your mechanic will understand this.
