Hey all. I know this has probably been talked about over and over, but I can't find a clear answer for what the problem is, but I have a few ideas.

For one, this is my girls car. Her heater switch already broke, and we got that recall fixed. *thanks to this site*

Anyways, there is still a problem of when you turn the blower on in any position, you hear a "wrapping" sound under the hood.

I popped the hood, and to me it sounds like a "switch". Turning on, and bogging down the motor a tad. Then turning off, and the motor pics up.

It does this the whole time the blower is on.

Here is the list of recalls as most of you know I'm sure.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but please tell me, would it fall under this recall??

01S22 SEP 01 Recall - Blower Resistor Inspection/Replacement

Thanks alot, and I must say. This site is more then imformative. A lot of great information on here.

Thanks,

Jeremy

sounds like the compressor cycling on and off, must have the heater control in Def/Def-floor. This would be normal to help de-fog the interior.

It seems to do it on anything. Defrost, Vent, Floor, etc.

It constantly sounds like it's trying to switch something on and then off.

maybe there's a problem and it's cycling the a/c compressor when it's not supposed to (i.e. not in a defrost setting)... try unplugging the connector to the compressor and see if it still does it. (but remember to plug it back in afterword)

Tell you the truth, my buddy did say it sounded like the AC was switching on and off.

I'll check into that, but if it is switching on and off, wtf would cause something like that?

Thanks.

Not sure exactly the sound of the noise, but do you get airflow from the vents, and does it appear okay, i.e. hot/cold and fast/slow when set as such.
Check the pollen filter too, should be a simple and cheap one to check first.

Yup, all the vents work fine, and the variable speed is great as well.

I'm not sure what this "pollen filter" is you speak of.

I am almost 100% sure something is turning on, and off again. And it makes since to be the AC, and I'll see about unplugging it and see if it does it.

If not, would it be any kind of relay that may be covered under recall, or anyone have more information??

Thanks again,

Jeremy
