continued from my 150K tune up post:

I got the vac line fixed. no more air leaks. Still missed.

me and freind checked all the plugs, 1 and 2 were weak so I replaced them with the old ones. #2 was still weak spark. I went down the parts store and got some wires off the lifetime gurrantee. Put them on, still misses.

What it does when you start it, is that it will rev up and them come back down after a few seconds and start missing.

Went to Autozone and got a coil pack. I just plugged it up, I did not install it and still have a miss.

What is wrong with my car?? I just went to have a PCV changed and now my car runs like crap! Anyone who lives in or near Athens Alabama please help!

Thanks...

this is kind of a long shot... but go and pick up a set of Motorcraft OEM plugs Model number AYFS22FM

STOCK NUMBER 4112 at autozone.

I had Autolite DP's. and they gave me a REALLY hard time at lower RPM's and when I Really horsed the engine. I got my Motorcraft plugs, I now hardly ever have a problem. I got 1 misfire on my way down to the meet Saturday, and one on the way back. Only reason why I got them was because my Fuel system needs to be cleaned out. my injectors are a little dirty.

Ok, talked to another one of my Mechanic freinds:

When I told him about the Crank sensor, he told me that they may have not aligned it right, causeing the timing to be off, therefore causeing a miss....

VERY possible, but you would also be throwing a code telling you the Timing is off.

Go to a dealership and get a Ford/Motorcraft PCV valve and throw away whatever the other place installed.

Yeah,

I took it to the Ford Dealership

They fixed the hose, put it on the scanner.

It cost about $100 or so.

The guy took it out for a test drive with the scanner plugged in. Told me the MAF is failing.

Where do I get a good MAF from?

Thanks....

Car runs good for now.....

Is the drivability issue resolved or not with the replacement of the PCV hose?

If so, drive it and see what happens.

If not, unplug the MAF and test drive it (you will have a CEL, but it will drive fine). If the drivability problem clears, then the MAF is indeed suspect.

You can always clean the MAF (I use a non-residue brake cleaner) to see if that helps, otherwise the MAF is likely defective. New ones can be bought from almost any auto parts store or from the Ford dealer.
