We have a similar one at work, it extends to 12 feet long and had a 1.2 hoursepower gas engine and a 10 inch bar. I feel sorry for the people who don't drink. It goes to 15' and with some creative scaffolding I was cutting limbs about 20' above ground level. I used this to take down a bunch of stuff ranging from vines to 6" tree trunks. I had 2 neighbors ask me if I wanted a 'real chainsaw' and I was like 'hehe all set'. FWIW, never rent a chipper shreder from HD...they gave me a piece of crap that had a bad clutch belt (never tested unit before renting to me), they didn't have a replacement, and when I brought it back they questioned why I had it all day, and I didn't bring it right back. Bunch of retards...! They will take limbs up to 5" in diameter. You can make youself a nice sized pile of wood chips pretty quickly. I feel sorry for the people who don't drink. The HD unit was a pull-start 8HP Honda with a faulty clutch belt, the Taylor Rental unit was a 22HP elec. start Subaru with a centrifugal clutch.
