Getting ready to sell a set of stock SVT wheels and want to make sure they're in tip top shape for the buyer. This is a set I purchased cheap from a friend of a friend who kept them in good shape but there is the slightest hint of rust in the corners of the spokes.

I was wondering if anybody had a good technique or product to use to get rid of the rust and get them looking good as new. I tried the SOS pads but it didn't help too much. I'd appreciate any help anyone can offer and to show my thanks, you will be instantly entered to win a free donut from me at spring zing.

Where is the rust from? must be the brake rotors or something? Sure is not the aluminum wheels. No matter. Try a clay bar--it will take off any rust that has become imbedded in the paint. Make sure to re-wax the area that you used the clay bar on... HTH

hmm good point, it's just extra grimey in the corners and it has a rusty type look to it. perhaps it's not rust though. anyway, u suggest the claybar. should I take the time to order one from zaino or will meguiars or another company do just fine? i was hoping to clean them tonight.

Any claybar will do ... may want to try a mild polish first or something from the kitchen like VIM (or even that abrasive hand cleaner). Test first just 2B sure.
