I think that's a pretty bogus assumption. Emphysema isn't caused by a physical obstruction (although it's technically called a chronic obstruction pulmonary disease), it's caused by reduced elasticity (and hence recoil) of the lung tissue. Smoke (and sometimes genetic disorders) damage the tissue so it can't recoil and expell the used air.
Ever seen somebody with a barrel chest who's exhaling short and shallow breaths? That's emphysema - their lungs can't expel the air that it's used cause the tissue doesn't recoil anymore.

I know that.  But then how is mike gonna argue that it isn't dangerous (again, not as much as cigarettes cuz they smoke more)blah blah blah. I never said it was some super killer, so what is the arguement here?

Marijuana is psychoactive because it stimulates certain brain receptors, but it does not produce toxins that kill them (like alcohol), and it does not wear them out as other drugs may. There is no evidence that marijuana use causes brain damage. Studies performed on actual human populations will confirm these results, even for chronic marijuana users (up to 18 joints per day) after many years of use.
Though studies are unconclusive about the degree of cancer that it causes.

And as something that ol fat mike posted a while back stated, pot doesn't kill brain cells but it does some other crap to your brain and can make u stoopid. There are all sorts of studies that say all sorts of things, only some r rite, but I kno from what i've seen that pot kan be a stoopifier.

Pot makes them stupid because they keep smoking all the time!

I wouldn't doubt that it does some damage, but in order to do some damage you'd have to be smoking excessively for a long period of time. Used in moderation though, pot won't really change your brain. I know people who smoked frequently starting as early as 7th grade....they all got over 1500 on their SAT's...hm...it is interesting though...i do know of some people who ended up the opposite way. maybe it depends somewhat on the person?

We don't use most of our brains, so I'm thinking unscientifically/scientifically here,,, what if it kills different parts of different people's brains.

I used to smoke pot, of what I noticed I stopepd a few tmes for months at a time the last time being permanent
The first few weeks your breathing might seem to get worse
In a whole after about three months your breatihng should be pretty damn good again
adive if u choose 2 smoke weed still dont smoke blunts or joints try and use a pice thast has water..

Ok this has been brought up a number of times in this post and I would just like to varify that we do not only use 10% fof our brain if that is what you are implying. In fact we use all of our brain but not at the same time. Each activity that we do uses a different part of the brain so it is wrong to think that we do not use parts of our brain at all. Which is why if Mary J were to be killing parts of your brain, it wouldnt go unnoticed. I'm not by any means stating that it doesnt affect your brain, I am just saying that there arent "parts" of your brain you do not use.
