Shifting at about 2.5k's is my preference. Double clutch and rev-match whenever shifting down. As for 1st gear until 35mph, that's just crazy, and really is an extreme. I use all the gears going up, but generally when coming down, if I want to stop a little easier, I'll skip from 5th to 3rd. Also in the winter, with snow and ice, I'll usually start in 2nd gear ... so much better traction. As for launching ... I may be wrong but doesn't wheel spin = less traction = slower launching.

I find it best for racing to launch at 2750 and go up to 6500, and regular driving I think its best to shift gears from 2000-3000 RPM's.. BUT THEN AGAIN I DONT DRIVE SVT (YET)

i launched the 3L ATX between 3000-3500 rpms, i had the torque converter modded for a higher stall surprisingly it launched pretty well, for an atx that is. i had a 2.2x 60' time at the track with BALD SNOW TIRES! i was surprised they hooked up that good! i got them nice and warm in the burnout box. they were so bald they look like slicks! now with mtx i dunno how to launch cause i still havent driven my car with the mtx yet

I'm still learning the "characteristics" of the seconday sytem...but it seems that while already rolling u get much more power by revving past 4k to get the secondaries open before releasing the clutch..in other words...just stomping the gas does not seem to give me the power i want when i want it because of the slight delay of waiting for the secondaries to open...same as when shifting up...the car seems to perform much better if u blip the throttle before shifting (race mode)...needless to say it has to be done extremely fast...but that works for me...normal driving i shift 1,3,5 at about 2500 rpm..does not lug the engine...
