Some do, some don't. No pattern has ever been established.

Yeah, some do, but most donot play. I would suggest replacing the unit with a player that does play CDR's. Especially, with the deals thats going on right now at BestBuy stores.

Mine sometimes did, othertimes bombed with "error" flashing on the face.. I ended up replacing it with a Pioneer that supported CDRs and CDRWs. Very cool (and for sale in the classifieds :>).
Plus, it just sounds a ton better than the stock setup, especially when your head unit has a built-in equalizer.

Mine did on some brands, not others.
Do yourself a favor and upgrade.
Worth it even if you are not an audiophile.
the radio reception is better, the sound is better, better features.

Ahhhh, The stock head unit. Well mine did when it felt like it. It never did in the winter. I would drive home from work (25min) I had to wait to the car warmed up so I could put the CDR in front of the vents and about 20minutes later after I put it in it took a second then played and skipped over every bump. You can find some nice deals at Crutchfield for a CDR deck. Or get a MP3 deck. I love mine! Joe

Mine did. The first one I had didn't, but I found a commercial cd that it wouldn't play well, and used it to get a new one from Ford that worked great.
