I installed a Pioneer HU a week or so ago. If I remember correctly the harness Circuit City sold me doesn't have a place for the remote turn-on for adding an amp. I may be missing the obvious of course. So...my question is...am I maybe missing an easy hookup option or do I need to run a wire from the battery with a toggle if I add an amp in the future ?
Thanks and hope I didn't confuse anyone other than me ! =)

The harness I got from CC replaced the harness that came with the Pioneer tho...did I do something wrong ? I'm wondering also if there is a wire to splice into for remote.
Thanks all

What do you mean by this? HEad units dont come with harness because they don't know what kind of car you drive??? Sometimes the remote wires are alternately labeled as pwr antenna wires. If your harness has a wire for a power antenna, use that one.
all you gotta do is get a +12v probe and find a wire that puts out +12v, splice into that, and run it to your amp if you dont have one. make sure that it only puts out +12v when your stereo is ON, so your amp doesnt drain your battery.

im not saying this is good safe or proper... when i pulled apart my girlfriends mustang i found the remote amp wire spliced onto a speaker wire and it worked well... obviously i moved it to the proper location and tried to stalk down the prick who installed it wrong but hey... it worked
Pioneer makes pretty much one wire harness for all their decks. What CC sold you should be a wire harness adapter which you wire to the pioneer harness and plug into the factory harness. A basic ford harness adapter should be a gray and a black female which the factory gray and black male plugs into. There is a blue wire that comes out of one of the plugs from the adapter harness, this is your remote wire for the car. This wire is hooked up to the blue wire off the pioneer harness which you can hook up your amp wire to. DO not, I repeat do not just find a 12 volt source and attach it to the amp turn on wire. Make sure it is a switched power source so you don't run the battery down. Only do this if you can't figure out the wire harness. You can also try looking on the package the wire harness came in. But I'm pretty sure you have a blue wire on that pioneer plug. I hope that helps out and wasn't too confusing.
