Derek--snow driving in Utah really isn't as difficult as some people think. I agree with the others. If you get some decent winter tires, you will be just fine. The SVT is front-wheel drive and that's the most important thing. It will handle well in the winter.

Personally, I don't think you'd have a lot of use for 4WD or AWD. The city plows the big streets first when it snows, so I don't imagine you'd have too much trouble. Foothill is never too bad, and things are kept clean by the university. And anything below that in the valley doesn't get a ton of snow anyway.

Now, if you lived somewhere up in the hills and away from major roads, I'd say you'd need AWD. But you don't, so I say just keep the SVT. Aside from the car getting filthy, wintertime isn't too bad on it.

yeah - its not too bad - just drive slow and be aware of morons who are driving fast.

Like others have said - the city stays on top of plowing (usually) and all you need to really do is by some snow tires.
Im getting some for kore as soon as I can - my stock P5/ES 16" alums are in the mail.

I'm not too skeerd of the snow in all honesty. I've grown up driving in it, so I'm comfortable in it. I'd consider snow tires/all seasons for the winter.

In all honesty, I don't think I can give the love that my car deserves right now. I'm tired of worrying about door dings, waxing, and loving a car (sad, but I'll admit that I'm my car's b*tch). I kinda want something I can not worry about. Ya know?

I've been checking out Outbacks - their reliability isn't anything to brag about. Hmm... '97 Tacoma? Maybe I'll get a Honda Civic...

You guys are killin' me!

I know I'd miss it, and everytime I saw one on the road I'd probably cry like a school girl.

It'd be great to get a beater on top of the car, but then again, I have tuition (20K per year ) and no job (I'm in school from 8-5 Mon-Fri, no time for a job).

Obviously, I'm fasting and praying over this decistion. (<--- One of my profs used that phrase. It's good eh?)

i dunno, I think I have to disagree. If I had anything else besides an SVT I'd feel mundane. I get a sinking feeling every time I have to drive a rental car.
