Hi guys,

My 96 Contour Zetec's MTX was horribly gummy in cold conditions when trying to shift and I drained and replaced the MTX75 fluid with Valvoline synth blend ATF with 1 oz of Ford Friction Modifier, which solved the problem thus far.

The question is; my girlfriend has a 2000 Ford Focus ZTS, which I belive has an MTX75? (someone correct me if I'm wrong) She has been complaining about the same symptoms in cold weather. Do they have the same transmissions and can I drain and fill her transmission with the same cocktail to take care of it? Thanks for the help. I checked a few focus sites but couldnt find any info.

Thanks again,
Dylan

Hers already has the Ford honey colored synthetic fluid. All it needs is to add 2 oz of Ford friction modifier.
