My charging light was on constantly last month....even though the alt had 13.2v...and the batt had 12....now that its cold out...it only comes on once a week if im sitting in a parking lot, not moving. Im thinking that the regulator is overheating...meaning impending failure....anyone concur?

dont know the answer to that question, but almost all alternator put out about 14.5 volts..thats with the lights on high and all acces. like the a/c radio ect on. so you could have either the regulator or the alt. going out....
pull it off and get it checked...

I think more along the lines that your alternator is going bad.

There are regulator rebuild kits avaiable (Pep boys offered me one instread of an alternator) but, usually its better to jsut replace the whole thing.

But yes, battery light is a good sign of either a lose ground wire, or a bad alternator....ahve a test run, i know some places like kragens or autozone do free alternator testing.
