what size injectors are you running?
36lbers. . .and I'm not going to grenade my engine with a little over 2,000miles on it. . .especially if I'm running dyno oil, I'll wait to 5k, put synthetic in, and then take it up to 15psi, which was where the 401 was approximately achieved.
I actually doubt I'll see THAT much more power with 4lbs more boost. . .it'll probably take another 10lbs (like 25psi) to see something appreciable, but then you have to factor in how much less efficient that would be given the exponentially larger amount of air being compressed, blah , blah, it's not worth running a hot Duratec engine in that boost range IMO, I'm more than happy where I'm at, and at WOT, I can barely control the car at 12psi. . .
42 LB injectors.

Drivetrain loss is a %, because as someone mentioned, it is created by trying to overcome moving parts which as you turn and move them faster continue to take a proportionate amount of power. Its not a precise science, but generally speaking most rear wheel drive cars see about 15% drivetrain loss for a manual transmission, and close to 20% for an automatic. These numbers are generally higher for front wheel drive cars, 17.5% - 18% is generally used for the contour. Also if you add heavy components in your drivetrain, or taller gearing, this also constributes to drivetrain loss. Jim who's math is correct?
The correct math is to divide, 118% is an increased of 18% vs. dividing which gets you the number it would take to have an 18% loss. So 401/(1-.18) is correct.

nice job ssmumich00 but you just nailed it on the head about hitting 500 hp to the wheels. I was talking with Chris and to get these number we will have to have NOS and i think I am going to get the electronic one with stages instead of buying a bigger intercooler since it will not net me more than hp. So I will betrying this next January.

Thats not true. They said that about the 300 hp and now 400 hp mark before that.
It just requires a bigger turbo and a higher rpm range. He's already got upgraded pistons and rings.
There are lots of built Honda 1.8L engines that put out 600+ HP because they have a huge turbo and they spin 10K rpm.

On pump gas warmonager I meant I was always under the same impression we could have this power everyday. I know all about what the motor will handle because we all have the same internals like me. I just want my power on the street where I don't have to go run to the race track and purchase the gas to run. NOS will allow us to reach it on pump gas on the street.
