Hi,

So I'm looking into buying a Focus. They have a 2005 SE package with auto, a/c, power windows + locks, keyless entry. 2.0 litre Duratec. I can get it for $12,600.

Is this a good deal??

Can anyone give me some more pro/cons of this?

+
good mileage
relatively inexpensive for new car
good warrantee

-
kind of cheap feel interior.
Turn singnal sound is annoying.
back seat a little cramped

I got the 2.0 Duratec. Is there anything wrong with that one?

The price is after all rebates. Includes auto / ac / power windows / locks / remote entry - the SE package. Anything priced lower is probably a S package.

Other than being new and not as heavily tested as the Zetec, no. I say go for it. Try and swindle in some extra coverage waranty wise.

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

You didn't mention if this was a 3-door or 4-door and what state. If you PM me with the details I can let you know how your deal stacks up against dealer cost.

The venerable Zetech is gone - only the 2.0 and 2.3 Duratecs available for 05 on Focus (136 and 151 hp respectively) which are essentially the same engines as in the Mazda lineup, but without the variable timing.

Everything I've seen so far suggests these are solid engines and much more refined than the Zetech - not to mention more fuel efficient - in Fordspeak they are "leaner, meaner and greener."

I've had 6 Foci so far (2000, pair of 01s, 02, 04, 05)and each one much better than the previous. The 04, although recent, appears to be an excellent car with only one ONP on the heated seats.

The 05 is the ST with 2.3 and it is a hoot to drive - almost as much fun as my Mystique. Just wish we got the new Focus chassis (same as Mazda3, Volvo V40/50)and bodies as they did in Europe.

Cheers.
