Alright, I can't see the friggin filter. Just got the book and it say's to remove the right-front wheel. Is that what I need to do?

I know I'm a noob with cars, but stuff on my Contour seems to be hidden (PCV, IAB ,etc.)

When I had mine, I could reach it from the top. It is a blind reach but you can do it.

Just make sure the engine is cool or you can burn the heck out of your arm...

Yeah, no reason to remove the wheel. Reach it from the top.

Oh ya , the filter doesn't clear suspension parts with weight on wheels. In the long run , its just easyer

It'll clear suspension fine (always gets oil on stuff, gotta wipe that off), just if car is lowered, no way to reach under enough to get to it. Heck, even not lowered, I bet some fatties can't get to it.
Before I got low, I did all oil changes with no jack involved.

I could get to mine from the top (right under intake manifold) and from the bottom (with the car on ramps).
