One of the choices should be "Shut up! I pay for my internet access!!"

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

Never, people feel so artificially cool when they put a stupid warning on their post. It's not going to stop.

Bottom line is that dial-up is friggin cheap, and it gets the job done.

And fyi, for all the "*56k warnings*" that people put on pic posts, my 56k generally never has issues with it. Even when there's like 15 pics per page, its not too bad....only pics i've ever had issues with is when LoCo decides to put up gigantic pics.

100% dialup here and no desire to change. Like someone else mentioned it gets the job done. Plus, certain family members of mine get totally free Internet service because I use dialup.

I don't know? Is that typical dial-up speed?

I guess that's OK. I think I like mine better:
Communications 9 megabits per second
Storage 1.1 megabytes per second
1MB file download 0.9 seconds
Subjective rating Unbelievable

And that's the speeds I'm getting now, after they started limiting bandwidth in the dorms. Though it really sucks on p2p stuff and AIM. Takes 5+ times to log onto AIM and buddy list load and messages are sometimes slow.
