a friend gave me his kenwood powered sub and was not sure it worked since his head unit is broken.

well i tried to install it on my kenwood x815 and it does not work

i have never installed one and have no instructions was wondering if i did it right

i just hooked up rca cables and connected the blue\white wire to the power control wire on the HU, is this right

So, you've got RCA cables connected to the head unit for the signal, good. The blue/white wire I assume is the HU power line, good. Now what you are missing is the power for the amp itself. You need a (probably 8GA) wire from the battery directly to the amp which is where the amp draws the current to drive the speaker.

yeah i saw the battery wire on the sub thought it was for more power if you had a weaker car.

is there a premaid wire kit i could buy to run from the batt or do i have to fabricate somthing

BTW, don't forget the ground wire. The kit includes one.

Or, just go to Ratshack and buy some wire and connectors.

i have the kit and my boy is coming over with the instructions and the battery wire he left in his truck
