My 95 v-6 Auto just had a trans rebuild less than 1000 miles ago. Now after about 2 days of driving, CEL comes on and trans starts shifting HARD. It will actually chirp the tires when it hits 2nd. After i clear the codes from the computer its fine again for a few days. The only codes that come up are excessive torque conv. slippage, and excessive exaust back pressure. Any info on this? I find it hard to belive the new convertor is slipping.
I have a 5 speed doner car i was going to swap over, but would like to keep the auto if i can fix this problem.

Chances are they did not actually repair and update the baypass and regulator vales and just cleaned the VB. The baypass valve wears out and sticks. It cant be cleaned or even replaced, the bore has to be honed and a redesigned (Sonax) valve used.

Bring it back.

Also do a search on code 1744 and Torque converter slippage. ( I think the code for 95 is 640, or 634. but dont quote me).
