Just got this e-mail from "Dave Parker" about my RX-7 on Autotrader.

This appears to be a new scamming method. What do ya'll think? Can't wait to get the next e-mail.

We just moved to a new apartment and construction\renovation are still on,our lines are not yet fixed to company policy,but we are making sure that we put all these together in no distant time. We specialise in sales and purchase of auto machines for customers around the globe and we get paid in commision after payment has been confirmed by seller to buyer and this is one of such
transactions.

You will need to get the engine serviced, oil changed and clean up the interior to keep it in good shape.The customer said that he will be getting the payment information to me soon which i will in turn forward to you immediately.

sounds like theyre just putting in a little more effort to sound more credible. i like the part about their offices being renovated and the (phone) lines not working up to company policy(?). i guess you cant call them and youll just have to take their word for it. I wonder how many people have actually been stung by this?

What is the return e-mail address? Is it even a UK address?

If it's not a business address, it's obviously a scam

"We specialise in sales and purchase of auto machines" A real company wouldn't spell specialize wrong.

It is common to spell it that way in the UK, where this company is said to be located.

s is commonly used instead of z in England. that's the standard spelling of the word. a few other letters do this as well but i cant recall them at the moment. it's one sure way to know when youre reading something from England.

i just got an email from someone who said they saw my ad on this site. he offered $8500 THEN asked for a pic

im gonna mess with him and if anything make him send a check overseas for nothing.

i was wondering, while attaching my pics, can you contain a virus in a file (without harming your computer) and send that? he would open it thinking it was a pic of your car and BAM Virus baby! unless he has email/virus scanning..

hahahahahahaha.. email/virus scanning... that is so old.. I can get around NAV and McAfee, etc, in about 20 minutes.. undetectable.. but that is neither here nor there... and not applicable to CEG
