I recently purchased the Lotek gauge pillar and I was getting ready here to order some gauges but I had some questions. The guages I want to get are Autometer but they run about 50 dollars a piece everywhere I have looked but the local Advance autoparts store has some that are about 20 dollars a piece. Does it really make a difference brand or no? Also the ones from advance limit me to oil pressure, water temp, and ammeter. Which I want oil pressure for sure, possibly ammeter but not sure I really need the water temp since I already have a temp gauge. But I really don't know what to use for the third one since I don't have anything I would need a boost gauge for. I really only wanted to add an oil pressure gauge for the most part but I wanted the "look" of the gauge pillar. Also the gauges from auto meter at 2 1/16 I believe and I have a 2" gauge which is the same as the ones from advance that I was going to put in the Mystique I have but never got around to it because I haven't been able to have my father help me since his accident, but I tested it to see how it fitted in the gauge pillar and it fitted tight. Perfect if you ask me. So my concern is that the 2 1/16" ones will have trouble getting in there without shaving it a little. But if the off brands are as good as autometers then it wouldnt matter anyway because I could settle for not having the "name brand." My last question is does Ford racing make any white faced 2" gauges? Sorry for all the rambling! Thanks in advanced!

I think mainly, its just a matter of preference when it comes to brands. Personally I prefer autometer, because its a quality product. Not to mention I think they look better because all the cheap ones I see in stores are black face with chrome or black bezel. Looks disgusting if you ask me. The gauge pillar you bought from Lotek is indeed a 2 1/16" gauge pillar pod. They dont make a 2". You may need to lightly sand the imperfections around the gauge hole for fitment to be right. Other gauges you may want to look into would be oil temperature, water temperature, exhaust gas temperature, (I dont recommend an air/fuel gauge since they are practically worthless unless you have a wideband), and voltemeter if your just looking to fill a spot.

ahh thanks, that will fill my third spot for my new setup. Would be interesting to know how much the vortech FMU works. then when i move to 24+ lbs injectors i can see the difference. I still need a fuel one though.
