Has anybody used Cascade audio engineering's VB-2 sound deadening material? Does it work good? I'm looking for a alternative to the asphalt based products. The asphalt stuff weighs too much and stinks to high heaven! I will not put that crap in my car so I need a alternative. Any ideas? confused smile

Wow! sorry Tony, I live out in the boonies, it takes me 45 minutes oneway just to go to Lowes! I just thought some of you guy's that have done this would be willing to share your knowledge in this area. Geuss NOT! You know instead of your quipy little remark you could have told me some of those brand names you refered to. That would help alot since the idiot that works at Lowes does not have any idea what I'm talking about.[Yes I called] You know to be honest I dont what I'm looking for either, that was the whole purpose of this post, to learn. Thanks for the input.

I have access t some plastic type deadener it is really odd looking stuff though. I beleive it is a thermoplastic dampener, I used it along with spray noise killer and dynamat super (I got that for free :p )

On another note KnuKonceptz.com will be releasing its own version of KnoKnoise or K.O.Knoise (name has yet to be decided...lol) in mid summer, its unlike any other deadener I have seen, its a combination of aluminum backing and a gooey polymer that stickes to itself, its actually cool looking stuff and will hold better than any glue backed deadener since the polymer will be doing all the bonding.

I used some roofing asphalt stuff on my car from Home Depot, $25 for 100sq ft. I have hear of some people using 2" thick styofoam sheets and cutting it the shap of the trunk as well.

R E L A X ! ! !
:p If a "Roofing store" and not a "Builders Store" is nowhere near by, just purchase some Dynamat, Roadkill, Noise Killer,Cascade Audio, B-Quiet, Brown Bread, Carpet underpadding, or Dupli-Color bedliner spray (non rubberized) for the cheap but effective method!
