I couldn't really think of a better title..

Anyway, ever since I put on my 17's there has been a huge vibration feeling in my steering wheel when going over 60 MPH. Sometimes it does it when I'm going lower speeds, but not as bad. Basically, my steering wheel just vibrates like crazy. There's no vibration feeling in the car itself, just in the steering wheel. It's pretty annoying and not all that comfortable to ride with.

Anyone know what the problem is if there is any? Or is this something I'll have to live with because of the new rims/tires..?

no and or, an alignment itself isnt going to cause a vibration... now tire wear due to an alignment could cause this.. Damn I'm good

Unbalanced wheels could though by itself. Also if your supposed to have hubcentric rings and don't, it could cause it.

Well based on my experience I have had a vibration before an alignment.

Are these wheels replacing the stock wheels? Did they remove the clip located on one stud per wheel? If not, that could cause vibration. It did for me.

Like others have said, it could be balance..
Also could be tires that are out of round..
its possible... my 17's do the same since I got them
balanced twice, and now that the tires are almost shot
the vibration is worsening... i've actually had the car up in the air
and idled the car in first gear... and noticed mine were out of round.
in the spring I won't be buying cheap tires again(federal 595SS's)

i've returned to my 16's
with just race tires on them, and they are smooth rolling.
so i know its not car specific in my case.

I had the exact same problem because my tires were worn unevenly. I got 4 brand new tires got them balanced and got the alignment. Problem fixed, no more vibrating steering wheel.
