just bought a new keyless remote for my 95. instructions read;Turn ignition to RUN or ACC. Momentarily jump pins in programming connector located behind glove compartment. The horn will chirp to confirm programming mode. Press any button on 1st transmitter. The horn will chirp to confirm programming. Press any button on 2nd transmitter (up to 4 transmitters total possible). The horn will chirp to confirm programming. Turn ignition to OFF. The horn will chirp one last time to indicate end of programming mode.
Where is this programing connector? What does it look like? Color? Thanks

behind the glove box, remove the panel in the foot area and looking up it will be the box closer to the glove boc that has alot of wires running to it and an antenna wire, like the one on the radio running into the side.
as the faq says it is the white, two pin, unused plug right near the wireless box
in the pic it is the white connector with the yellow center

Still cant find this connector, either on my 95 or 96. My 96 has keyless remote, and works. Keyfob says Ford on it so i'm thinking its not aftermarket. My 95 was purchased at an auction with only one key and no remote. I assumed it had been equiped with keyless entry. Its an SE v6 auto. Loaded with everything including sunroof. Could it have no keyless entry, or am i not looking for the plug in the correct place. I have the glove box out now, the kick panel pulled back and all sound insulation pulled out.

see edited image above, its my 99 but it shouldn't be different, will try to snap a pic on my 95 sometime soon, most likely friday
my father has a 95 SE and it is just about fully loaded but no keyless entry, sunroof or the optional seperate cd player with tape deck
also the 96 remote might say ford but it could have been an add on system so it wouldn't be in the same place

Hi, newbie here. I just purchased my '98 Contour yesterday. (11/14/04) When I purchased it, I was given a Ford key, but no fob. I don't know for sure that I have keyless entry, but it seems likely, and there is a blinking red light down near the bottom of the steering column. I bought a new key fob today, and figured that I could program it myself, but I can not seem to locate this white connector. If you follow the below link, there are several pictures of the area behind my glove compartment.

The car is: 1998 Contour GL 4-cyl 2.0L Zetec
It was obviously in an accident previously as evidenced by the slight scarring on the front right bumper and the glass that I found behind the glove box, if that might make a difference.
I greatly appreciate any help that anyone may provide.

the blinking red light at the steer column would be an aftermarket alarm
you need to have the factory unit to have keykless entry
none of the pics you have are helpful as they are not anywhere near where the control unit would be, it would be next to the computer
I will restor the pics I posted above

Ahhh....Thanks for the quick response, I suppose I'll just have to look at getting a keyless/alarm system installed.

Hmmm - Not to change the topic...
For some reason, I always thought that keyless remote entry wasn't available in 95, so I was pleased to see it above.
I'd like to add it to my '95 GL. I don't like any of the aftermarket systems I've seen; I'd prefer a real Ford OEM system.
Does this mean my car should have the connectors ready to go for the keyless remote receiver? What about an antenna connection? Has anyone done this in a '95 GL?
I'll have to crawl under the dash tonight.
Any input appreciated.
Thanks!

I just purchased 95 Contour SE and went to the local Ford Dealership to verify if my car came with remote keyless entry from the factory. The Service Advisor went into the car and turned the ignition switch on and off 10 times in a row. She stated if the car had keyless entry, the locks would unlock after the 10th time the ignition switch was turned. The locks on my car didn't move after her trick, so she stated that my car didn't have the factory option.
