i just cut mine down and put o knob on it and the lever travel is shorter( look in my car domain site for a pic . does the B&M lever reduce the throw angle for less travel or is it just a shortened shifter.

I stand by it...I have the custom cougars shifter...never had any problems, and I've said it before...those guys that break the shifters must have gorilla arms!
Seriously though I don't know about the OBX, but mine has done great.

I have a cosmos racing shifter fitted and its not bad, only had it fitted for two weeks so still getting used to it, had to mod the base slightly with a file to aid 4 to 5 gear change, but overall not bad for the money ( only cost me £22 ) I would say the B&M one is better, but over here they are nearly £180, which unless this cosmo one fails ( which I doubt ), will remain in my wallet.

The ebay shifters, as well as the OBX and CC shifters are rip offs of the B&M. My OBX broke withing a month. The problem with all of the rip off shifters is the weak lower ball linkage. If you had the weld re-enforced, it should be ok.

I have the OBX and the ball broke off but I just had it rewelded properly. It's all good now.
As for the Steeda, I have one I am about to put onto RyeLou's 98 CSVT and that thing has the same flawed weld design on the ball, so I wonder if that'll eventually break too.
I saw get the cheaper one and have it wwelded around the cicumference of the ball plate, before you install it, and you'll never have a problem.
