Can't blow a speaker from underpowering them. You can make the amp clip by cranking the gains which will cause the speaker to heat up and blow, but if you set up the amp correctly, no speaker can be damaged by too little power.

I'm curious, though, TonyD; why the different component speakers?

I will only upgrade my speakers if i can sell the ones i posted in the classifieds. If not, not biggie. They sound pretty good!

I can tell your "Brand Loyal" as it doesn't realy matter what components i use. Well you know what i mean wink

However, considering you are using a pair of 8" subs, you might be able to mount them in the rear doors if you are willing to spend the money & effort on some custom installation work.

This sounds like a great idea, i just have to find the right shop! I can't really spare the trunk space because i have to fit a wheel chair in their. Great ideas guys!

In my system, channels 7 & 8 are bridged to power a single 10" sub. Though the single channel power is 40 watts, bridged power is 120 watts.

I can assure you this is, as Dave stated, more than enough power to achieve a sufficient level of bass response from a sub that is rated from 75 to 350 watts.
